Professor Gosselin is a Professor of Human Resources Management and Associate Director for Executive Education at HEC Montréal. He holds a Ph.D. in Human Resources Management (HRM) from the University of Maryland in College Park (Washington DC). His main areas of teaching and research are the development and implementation of value added human resources strategies such as employer of choice and talent management. He is also recognized as a specialist in executive development and employee performance management issues. He is responsible for the HRM major in the MBA program at HEC Montréal. In 2007, he was awarded the Grand prize for excellence in teaching at HEC Montréal.

Mr. Gosselin has been a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of South Carolina and invited lecturer at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP), l’Institut d’administration des enterprises (IAE) de Paris-1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne) and l’École supérieure des affaires (IAE) de Grenoble. He was also the co-lead coordinator and part of the faculty of Executive Development programs provided by HEC Montréal to the African Development Bank (Tunis), Asian Development Bank (Manila), and the Romanian Commercial Bank (Bucarest). As a consultant, he has worked with a number of large corporations including ABB, Alcan, African Development Bank, Hydro-Québec, IBM, Bank of Montréal, National Bank of Canada, Groupe Thalès (France), Transcontinental Group, CEVITAL (Algeria), Montréal Port Corporation, Ubisoft, and Wyeth.

An active member of various academic and professional groups, Mr. Gosselin was president (1996-98) of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) as well as Vice President (1997-2000) of the Quebec Association of HR managers. He is currently a member of the Independent Board of Examiners of the Canadian Council of Human Resource Associations and of the Comité Scientifique d’Entreprise et de Personnel in Paris.

Mr. Gosselin is the author or co-author of three books and over 30 articles and chapters dealing with HR issues in mergers & acquisitions, strategic HRM, performance appraisal, development of managers, HR strategic thinking, and the repositioning of HR services.

Veronika Kisfalvi

Veronika Kisfalvi (Ph.D., McGill University; MBA, HEC Montréal) is a Professor of Leadership and Management Skills in the Management Department of HEC Montréal, where she has been teaching in the school’s various programs since 1986.

Professor Kisfalvi has worked with a variety of organizations, dispensing executive education in the areas of leadership, management and management skills through the Executive Education center of HEC. She was also co-lead coordinator and part of the faculty of Executive Development programs provided by HEC Montréal to the African Development Bank (Tunis), the Romanian Commercial Bank (Bucarest) and of the MBA in Financial Services and Insurance (module taught in London). In addition, she has developed and dispensed training sessions on leadership and management skills in Switzerland, Holland, Trinidad, Bulgaria and the USA.

As a researcher, Ms Kisfalvi is particularly interested in leaders, leadership and the dynamics of strategic decision making in top management teams. She has published a number of articles on this subject in top academic journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Organization Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management Inquiry, and in practitioners’ journals such as la revue Gestion. In addition, she has contributed book chapters to works dealing with leadership, business strategy, management skills and emotional competence.

Before embarking upon her academic career, Ms Kisfalvi worked for a number of years as the manager of a family-owned business in the printing field. Upon her graduation from the MBA program at HEC, she held the position of Director of Human Resources at the Canadian Red Cross Society, Québec Division, until 1988. AT HEC Montréal, she held the position of Director of the Graduate Diploma Program from 2004 to 2007.
